Timber Point Country Club, is a Public, 27 hole golf facility located in Great River, New York. The facility has three 9-hole courses: The Red Course, The White Course, and The Blue course. The original eighteen holes were the Red and Blue Courses. They first opened for play in 1927. The course designers were H. S. Colt and C. H. Alison. The White Course opened in 1973.
The Blue Course is flat and runs alongside the Great South Bay. The putting greens are medium-sized, undulating, well-bunkered, and some are elevated. There are three ponds and a creek that come into play on five holes. #2 Hole (Blue) - 146 Yards - Par 3 is Timber Point Country Club's signature hole. Great public course. Upgraded in the last few years. Beautiful Setting. Blue course is along the Great Sound Bay giving you a poor man's Pebble Beach feeling.

This is a Suffolk County Municipal Golf Course. Non-residents pay more. The location of the course is simply beautiful. There are 3 nine-hole courses (Red, White and Blue) The Blue course hugs the Great South Bay and can be described as a poor man's Pebble Beach. The second par 4 on the Blue is a 165+ yard up-hill shot onto a bluff that juts out into the bay--awesome but tough. The next two holes hug the Great South Bay and are reminiscent of the 18th at Pebble--I know it's a bit of stretch but you have to see it to believe it. I played in March 2008, on a cold blustery day. So, the conditions of the course were not up to peek season form (especially the greens). However, the two guys I played with ensured me that in the spring and summer Timber Point is a gem--I have no reason not to believe them.
